Breaking News:
On August 26, 2024, a federal judge in Texas put a temporary 14-day hold (administrative stay) on the Keeping Families Together Parole in Place program aimed at helping undocumented immigrants with U.S. citizen spouses.
USCIS released a statement to clarify what will happen for now:
- This will not affect any of the applications that have already been approved
- Eligible individuals can still apply without penalty
- The USCIS will continue to accept applications, but they will not approve them during this time
- USCIS can still accept applications but cannot approve them during this time
- This temporary hold policy lasts for 14 days but may be extended
